VEGE VC08 Remanufactured Long Block Crate Engine — Carbureted 350 V8 (5.7L), 1967–1977, with Tinware
The classic-era small block, remanufactured exactly as it left the factory. The VEGE VC08 is a fully remanufactured carbureted 350 engine — the 5.7L / 350 cubic inch small-block V8 that powered Chevelles, Camaros, El Caminos, Impalas, Novas and C10 trucks from 1967 through 1977. With oil pan, valve covers and timing cover pre-installed, plus oil pump and gasket, this long block arrives dressed and ready for your carburetor, intake and accessories. Crated and shipped fast across Europe from NH Race Engine.
Why Choose the VEGE VC08?
The carbureted 350 is the heart of the classic Chevy world — the engine under the hood of the muscle cars and trucks that defined a generation. But most survivors are original, unrestored units with 50-year-old bearings, seals and bores. A rebuild is possible, but machine-shop costs, core quality and months of downtime make a remanufactured long block the smarter path for most owners.
The VC08 eliminates the gamble. VEGE completely disassembles every core to individual components, then cleans, crack-tests, measures and machines the block and cylinder heads back to OE tolerances. Each engine is reverse-engineered — known original design defects are identified and eliminated before reassembly, not copied. Wear components are replaced new, the tinware is installed, and every engine is tested and calibrated before being vacuum-sealed, corrosion-treated and crated for dispatch.
Key Features & Benefits
- Classic-Era Specification: Non-roller cam, 2-piece rear seal, driver’s side dipstick, perimeter-bolt valve covers — the correct 1967–1977 carbureted 350 configuration, not a modern hybrid.
- Tinware Pre-Installed: Oil pan, valve covers and timing cover arrive already installed — no separate shopping list, no extra gaskets, hours of installation time saved.
- True Remanufacture to Factory Spec: Complete teardown, crack testing, machining to OE tolerances and reassembly by certified technicians — a documented process, not a salvage refresh.
- Reverse-Engineered Reliability: Original design defects are eliminated during remanufacturing, so your replacement engine is built better than the one that failed.
- Oil Pump & Gasket Included: Ready for priming at installation — one less part to source.
- Carburetor-Friendly: Correct as-cast intake pattern for your period carburetor and intake manifold — no adapter plates, no compromises.
- Crated for Safe EU Transport: Vacuum-sealed, corrosion-treated, steel-crate packed and dispatched with full tracking and insurance.
Vehicle Fitment — VC08 Applications
The VEGE VC08 carbureted 350 engine long block is the correct variant for 1967–1977 Chevrolet and GMC carbureted applications:
- Chevelle & Malibu (1967–1977): SS and non-SS 350 V8 models
- Camaro (1967–1977): SS and Z/28-adjacent 350 applications
- El Camino (1968–1977): 350 V8 models
- Impala, Caprice, Bel Air & Biscayne (1967–1977): Full-size 350 V8 cars
- Nova & Chevy II (1968–1974): 350 V8 models
- Monte Carlo (1970–1977): 350 V8 models
- C/K Trucks, Blazer & Suburban (1967–1977): Carbureted 350 truck applications
- G-Series Vans (1967–1977): 350 V8 vans
Verify before ordering: The 350 spans several eras with different seals, mains and tinware. The VC08 covers the 1967–1977 carbureted configuration (non-roller cam, 2-piece rear seal, driver’s side dipstick, perimeter-bolt covers). Later TBI applications use VCB1; later Vortec applications use DCH4. Some VC08 applications used 4-bolt mains — send us your VIN or casting numbers and our technical team will confirm the exact match.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the VEGE VC08 a drop-in replacement for my Chevelle or Camaro?
Yes — with tinware pre-installed, the VC08 is one of the most drop-in-ready classic 350s available. Transfer your intake manifold, carburetor, distributor, exhaust manifolds, water pump, balancer and flexplate — the pan, covers and oil pump are already done.
What’s the difference between VC08 and VCB1?
Both are 350s with tinware, but they’re different eras: VC08 covers 1967–1977 carbureted applications (non-roller cam, 2-piece rear seal, perimeter-bolt covers); VCB1 covers 1987–1992 TBI truck applications (1-piece rear seal). They share tinware but differ in internals — the right one depends on your vehicle’s year and fuel system.
Will this work with my original Quadrajet carburetor?
Yes — the VC08 is built to the stock carbureted-era specification, so your original intake manifold and Quadrajet (or any period-correct 4-barrel) bolt straight on. No adapters, no port-matching compromises.
Does the VC08 have 2-bolt or 4-bolt mains?
Most VC08 engines use 2-bolt mains, but a 4-bolt variant exists for certain applications. If main-bearing configuration matters for your build, send us your casting numbers and we’ll confirm which variant you’ll receive — or recommend an alternative code.
Do I need to return my old engine core?
Core policy varies by order type — many VEGE engines are available with no core required. Contact NH Race Engine for current terms.

-
Flat-tappet discipline: zinc-rich break-in oil and immediate rpm on first start — procedure in our installation guides
-
Classic-car note: pair with a modern water pump and fresh radiator hoses while the engine’s out — a fresh engine with a 50-year-old cooling system is a false economy
