What’s the difference between the LA 318 and the Magnum 318?

Both are 318 cubic inches, but the Magnum (1992+) uses revised cylinder heads, a different intake pattern and MPI fuel injection. Heads, intake and fuel systems don’t interchange. The DD66 covers the Magnum configuration — classic carbureted LA applications need a different VEGE code. Send us your VIN and we’ll identify yours.

Does the DD66 include the intake manifold and fuel injectors?

No — this is a long block. It includes the assembled block, cylinder heads, valvetrain, oil pump and gasket. Intake, fuel injection, ignition, exhaust manifolds, oil pan, valve covers, timing cover, water pump, balancer and flexplate transfer from your original engine.
